Extension for Mid-century Home

A sensitive, modular extension and renovation to an existing house located in Elsternwick, Victoria. Five small modules were added to breathe life into the existing residence whilst remaining sympathetic to the mid-century era and style of the existing building.
The new floor plans retain the essence of the original, with a modern open plan kitchen, living and dining space.
Maximising the northerly aspect of the house, the addition of highlight windows above the kitchen joinery allow for increased natural light and high levels of ventilation through the main living spaces.
The result - a comfortable, sustainable family home that provides all the necessary amenity for a modern family whilst retaining the existing character of the house.
