CLT Passive House Extension

This modest 2-storey extension to an existing residence in Balgowlah required the quality to achieve a certified Passivhaus rating whilst keeping within a modest budget.
Certain elements of the design were prefabricated offsite, including the stairs and cutouts for optimum lighting.
CONSTRUCTION TIMELAPSE
CLT Installation in just 15 hours
The final design consisted of fully exposed timber walls, floors and ceilings with a Passivhaus ventilation system that ensures a healthy indoor environment. The airtight envelope of the building, high insulation and triple glazed timber windows allows for minimal heating and cooling throughout the year.
Through these design considerations, the project remained within the modest budget whilst still achieving the quality required for Passivhaus.
